GYMs???!!!? what do you think of Ladies Workout Express? is a good place? are there any good gyms that have group fitness classes? thats what im looking for.. really nice group fitness classes. never mind not ladies express workout...just any gym that has great fitness classes.

What gyms have work out programs for teens? I live in NY and have a 13 year old daughter. I hate to admitt but, I don't have the discipline to walk and excercise with her every day. I think if we could go somewhere together it would get me out of the house and commited. Most gyms are adult only. Where can we go together?

What do professional gyms do with their old equipment? I was a member of the gym at my hospital, but just changed jobs, and will have to pay high fees to remain. I went ahead and bought an elliptical trainer for home, but one thing I will really miss is the stomach machine. I have neck problems, and the ability to sit up, and push the weight down with my chest - not using my neck - was a great way to avoid further injury. I've seen all the 'ads' for stomach machines, but I find the ones at professional gyms seem to work best for me. If they happen to go on sale (for less than $1000) when replaced, I would love to buy one. Can anyone shine any light on this?

Why do hospitals and gyms still use old-fashioned scales instead of widely avaiable digital scales? I keep noticing that in hospitals, doctor's offices, gyms, etc., the old-school mechanical scales with the sliding weights are still used instead of digital scales, even though they have been around for many years, and it seems like digital scales could measure weight more precisely than the mechanical ones. So why aren't these used more extensively by people in health-related professions?

Far too many serious gyms have turned into 'spas' aimed at people looking to prance around on an elliptical machine or go to a pilates class. I've watched my gym deteriorate and lose more and more free weights to make room for ANOTHER elliptical machine. Not only that, but the members are now obviously different and the vibe that used to be there is gone. But most gyms are becoming like this. Are there any serious bodybuilding gyms left?

And provide power to their own lights and maybe even to the grid - practical or impractical? Much of the homeless have always been Green by recycling cans. It's like a cruvy piece of metal that you hold at the top with your hands and you push and rock back and forth. Does going to gyms increase your chances of getting sick? All the other people germs/perspiring, breathing in the same air in the closed room, etc etc etc? I fear going to gyms because of all the germs that you can potentially be exposed to. Is this safer or less safe than working out/jogging/hiking outdoors? Or does it even remotely make a difference?

Why do college gyms and weight rooms tend to be more crowded than high school gyms and weight rooms? This seems to be true among my high school friends who went to different colleges and my college friends who went to different high schools. And it's not just in-season athletes either, it's the general student body. College gyms and weight rooms do tend to be larger facilities and have better exercise equipment, but I don't think that's the only factor here. We also noticed that the proportion of females at college gyms is also much higher than in high school gyms.

How can one solve the problem of gyms with rolling contracts that wont let you end the membership? I signed up for 1 year. Because the membership rolled over by 1 month, I have to pay for another year. This all happened back in October! I've cancelled the DD but they still insist I pay for the year. Are independent personal trainers allow to train people at gyms like like LA Fitness? Both the trainer and personal training client have memberships in this scenario. The only thing is that the personal trainer does not work for the gym. He's an independent.

What are good gyms for wrestling in Chicago? I am talking about real wrestling not the WWE/TNA kind.

Why dont more guys take those exercise classes at gyms? I go to an exercise class and there are usually only like two guys there. I dont know why more guys dont go the training is great? Its much funner than just the machines. Its not a dancing class but a overall fitness class pushups etc weights. I chose the class because it sounded manly but still almost all girls. The workouts are great my body is looking kickass! More guys should try it.

How expensive is your MA compared to club sports/gyms in your area? I remember swimming after school was 40 bucks a month. I pay twice that for MA now but at least I don't smell like chlorine anymore and I don't have to wear jammers not that water polo wasn't awesome
